		ALGE 2011 Conference Programme
		'Big Change' - Big Challenge or Big Opportunity? This year's ALGE conference is being held on Thursday 8th December in Birmingham at BVSC (Birmingham Voluntary Service Centre), 138 Digbeth, Birmingham B5 6DR (website http://www.bvsc.org). 		IEEM Masterclass Series
		IEEM are offering a new Masterclass series, aimed at providing specialist advice on key subject areas to the more experienced professional ecologist.   One of these in particular may be of interest to Local Authority Ecologists or Planners - Protected Species: How Local Planning Authorities Should Discharge Their Legal Duties   For futher information details can be found on IEEMs website here.

		ALGE 2011 Conference Date Announced
		The date for the 2011 ALGE Conference has been confirmed as Thursday the 8th of December, and will be held in Birmingham.  The programme is still to be confirmed but the conference will be on the delivery of biodiversity protection and enhancement at the local level - with a particular focus on some of the relevant areas of the white paper.  Further details will be posted here once they are announced.

		ALGE 2010 Conference date announced
		The date for the 2010 ALGE Conference has been confirmed. It will be held on 23rd November at the LGA's Local Government House, Smith Square, London.  The programme is currently being developed and will focus on the changing face of biodiversity delivery in light of the new Government and reviews and studies that are underway.  It is intended that the programme will include: UK National Ecosystem Assessment Project; The Economics of Ecology and Biodiversity; Lawton Review; landscape scale biodiversity delivery; green credits and land banking.  The conference will also include the Annual General Meeting of the Association.  Full details of the conference programme and instructions for registration will be sent out in due course - in the meantime, get the date in your diary so you don't miss out on what promises to be an interesting day.
