There are ALGE members working within local government in each of the English Government regions which also have Regional Biodiversity Fora that ALGE members engage with. ALGE also aims to work regionally with the Local Government Association.

With an increasingly separate legislative and administrative base with which to engage, ALGE recognises that servicing Scottish members and being proactive in relation to Scottish local government and ecology issues is a major challenge. ALGE attempts to support all local authority ecologists in Scotland as far as current resources allow.
